Why SleepKey?
It's simple. SleepKey restores your natural sleep patterns gradually and easily. It's regarded as one of the most effective treatments for sleeping difficulties, and it fits in the palm of your hand. Developed and evaluated with grants from the United States National Institute of Health, the SleepKey naturally restores your sleep without drug side effects or addiction. Tailored to your unique sleep pattern, this device is for anyone who is having troubles with their sleep-wake patterns. And it is easy to use; while you're in bed, press the awake key if you hear a low-volume tone or feel a vibration, and let SleepKey do the rest. SleepKey will help you return to a normal and restful night's sleep, one night at a time.
SleepKey develops a personalized, three-stage sleep restoration plan. Stage 1 lasts seven days. During this stage, SleepKey records your sleep pattern while your in bed based on your response to a low-volume tone or vibration. From this data, SleepKey helps you develop a regular wake-up time. Stage 2 follows immediately and can last 2-4 weeks. Based on your sleep pattern established in week one, SleepKey sets your bedtime and prompts you to get out of bed if you are not sleeping so that most of your time in bed is spent asleep. SleepKey then gradually adjusts your bedtime until you are getting a full night's sleep. The third and final stage last indefinitely. The bottom line is that SleepKey will help you maintain a full and restful sleep pattern for as long as wish to use the device.
What is Insomnia?
When you sleep according to your natural sleep-wake cycle, you should wake up feeling refreshed and well-rested. However, when your natural pattern of sleep is disrupted, you may experience insomnia, which can cause distress or interfere with daily functions. Most people experience brief bouts of insomnia, often caused by stress, physical discomfort, medication side effects, or a change in sleep schedule, such as jet lag. These acute episodes of insomnia typically last only a night or two until the situation that caused the sleep disturbance is resolved. Generally, after the situation is remedied, sleep returns to normal. Yet, about 10 percent of the population experience what is known as chronic insomnia, a sleep problem that can last for months or even years.
If a person experiences insomnia for a month or more, some form of treatment may be needed to restore restful sleep. There are many factors that can disrupt the normal sleep pattern to produce insomnia. These factors are commonly divided into Primary Insomnia and Secondary Insomnia. Primary Insomnia is a common sleep disorder and is not caused by any known physical or mental condition. Typically, it results from developed patterns of sleep behavior that interfere with the natural sleep-wake pattern. Secondary Insomnia differs from Primary Insomnia in that a specific medical or emotional condition is associated with the cause of the sleep disturbance. Secondary Insomnia maybe caused by sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, common medical problems (allergies, arthritis, heart disease, and more), substance use or withdrawal, or emotional problems (depression, anxiety, and others).
SleepKey Warnings
Because insomnia can be cause by such a wide array of conditions, it is important that you talk to your physician about your insomnia and what may be causing it. Your physician will probably ask you a number of questions about your sleep pattern and history, and may order tests to make sure that there are no other medical conditions causing your insomnia. It is important to know the cause of your insomnia before you consider treatments. Consult your physician before beginning any treatment for sleep disorders.

SleepKey then gradually adjusts your bedtime until you are getting a full night's sleep. Stage 3: SleepKey helps you maintain a full and restful sleep pattern for as long as you wish.
